Spring Sangha Retreat: The Three Myths of the Spiritual Life

Spring Sangha Retreat: The Three Myths of the Spiritual Life

Friday 17 May – Monday 20 May

Our Spring Sangha Retreat this year will be held at Adhisthana in Hereford:
Hurry Bookings close on 1st May!

We are very lucky to have Mahasraddha, Khemasuri and Taravandana joining us to explore the Three Myths of the Spiritual Life through talks, discussion, meditation, and ritual.

The Three Myths are: self-development, self-surrender and self-discovery. They offer us  three different views of practice which can open us up towards true freedom and contentment in our lives. The Three Myths invite us to trust and have confidence in our spiritual practice.

All members of the York and Scarborough sanghas are welcome on this very special retreat.

The cost is £120 which includes three nights comfortable accommodation in shared rooms, vegan food and  drinks. Everyone will also play their part with a small job each day to keep the retreat running.

There will be free time on Saturday and Sunday to explore the beauty of Adhisthana and the delightful countryside around it plus  an opportunity to visit Urgyen House where Sangharakshita lived for six years and to experience the perfectly preserved rooms where he lived and worked. There is also a very interesting  exhibition about the foundations of our movement which will be open to all.

The retreat will end at 3pm on the Monday after clear up jobs.

Adhisthana covers 26 acres with some stunning gardens, woodland, a beautiful shrine room and comfortable accommodation. It is also the place where our teacher lived his final years and he is buried buried there in the Memorial Garden.

We are looking into the possibility of hiring a bus for the trip down which will be more climate-friendly than travelling by car.
