1. Website
The only personal information that our website captures is what users explicitly enter when booking a place on a course or a retreat, making a donation, completing a gift aid declaration, or signing up to the mailing list.

We collect your email address and sometimes other details when you book a course or a retreat with us. This information is kept on a secure server or in a locked cabinet and is never shared or used for any other purposes than for giving you information on the course or retreat that you have booked.

We do not collect any analytical data from our website and we only use cookies to the extent that is necessary for the website to function. For example, if you are booking a place on a course or a retreat, a cookie is used to keep track of how far along the booking process you are.

Our newsletter platform - emailoctopus.com -  collects, maintains and stores any contact information which you give with your consent when you sign up to receive e-newsletters from us via our online signup form or when you complete a form at one of our classes. We use these details so that we can contact you in case of issues with changes to classes, and similar circumstances and to send you our newsletter each week. You can delete your subscription at any time by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of each newsletter or by contacting us direct, in writing, asking to be unsubscribed.

In addition, emailoctopus.com may monitor other information from those who receive the newsletters. This information may include: IP addresses, geographical location, which newsletters you view, and how often etc.

By default, all campaigns and automated emails sent through emailoctopus have tracking enabled. Tracking allows the monitoring of which emails are opened and any clicks on a campaign. 

emailOctopus - trading under Three Hearts Digital Ltd - is registered with the ICO and closely complies with all current EU data protection laws. They are GDPR compliant, with data securely stored on servers held with Amazon's data center in Ireland (EU).

You may be asked to complete a Gift Aid form so that we can reclaim tax on your donations. This information is required by HMRC when we file a claim but is not used for any other purpose. 3. Sangha Members, Mitras and Order Members
In the case of regular sangha members, mitras and Order members, we may keep a digital record of email and other details so that we can make contact with any important information, or to arrange meetings etc. This record will never be shared with a third party and if you would prefer us not to keep this information on record or wish us to delete it from our records, then please contact us in writing with this request and we will be pleased to comply..

4. Correcting, updating or removing personal information
Anyone may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by contacting us directly using the contact details above and on the ‘Contact Us’ page of our website: yorkbuddhistrcentre.org. You can also request that we give you a copy of the data we hold on you in a machine-readable format.
