Each week, over the summer, we'll explore the Buddha's teaching on life, ethics, suffering, happiness, friendship, myth, ritual, wisdom, compassion, death and rebirth. Open to all, Come to any class. We will also have a guided meditation each week. A Foundation Course in Buddhism for newcomers and a refresher for regulars.
This is a weekly drop-in so come when you can. Do as many classes as you are able.

Everyone is welcome on any week: A perfect introduction for those new to Buddhism. Based on the Book: Tools for Living Your Life by Vajragupta (also available to buy)

Come Alive to Peace and Contentment In Your Life this Autumn

We all want to be happy and content in our lives but, somehow, true and constant happiness seems to elude us. The Buddha discovered the reasons for this and dedicated his life to teaching others practical ways to deal with disappointment, anxiety, anger, fear and upset. His teachings worked and spread rapidly throughout the Eastern world. Now they are available in an accessible form in York at the York Buddhist Centre.

This Newcomers' Course is a practical, friendly and easy-going Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation and is open to all those over 18. The course is by donation but there is a £12 registration fee which includes a free course guide.

Vision and Transformation - Following the Buddhist Path

This Introductory Course offers a lively introduction to the Buddha's Noble Eightfold Path, which represents a way of following a spiritual path in ever-more skillful ways. There will be an emphasis on simple experiential exercises that help create positive emotion and build connections between people. Newcomers are very welcome but this course is particularly useful for those who have already attended the 'Come Alive to Peace and Contentment' Course

Studying the Buddha's Vision for a contented life (or Awakening) and the seven practical approaches that are needed to ultimately attain it. There will also be a guided meditation each week.
