Thursday DAYTIME Class:
Transforming our Lives
The Buddha discovered the path to true happiness 2,500 years ago and now people in the West are benefitting more and more from his practical advice. Join us on any Thursday for this drop-in class which, week by week, explores practical ways to calm our busy minds, and change our lives for the better.
Surprisingly, this doesn't mean 'becoming religious' but rather, exploring how we create our own pain and learning different ways of dealing with the difficulties, habits and negative emotions in our lives.

This weekly daytime drop-in class includes many aspects of Buddhist practice which can be helpful to you whether you wish to practice Buddhism or not. Each week begins with a guided meditation, after which Shakyapada will introduce a particular theme for the week. Discussion and questions are encouraged.
No need to book - just turn up when you can. There is no charge but a donation each week would be appreciated (see below)
DONATIONS: York Buddhist Centre has no outside income or support and no one is paid. These classes are given freely in a spirit of friendship. However we do have rent to pay and utilities and other running costs and we could not meet these without the generous support of those who use our centre. So, if you can, we ask you to make a donation when you attend. We suggest £10 each week but please give more or less according to your means.
