PRACTICE NIGHT:
Don't Panic - Everything Changes!
Wednesday 8 January 2025 7pm – 9:15pm
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by a world that is so full of change and insecurity. Political upheaval, climate change, wars, injustice and the suffering of others can all take their toll on us. It is easy to find ourselves slipping into a state of horrified anxiety where a sense of helplessness can set in. It is so easy and in these times we can forget all the positives and all the joy in life.
As Buddhists we have Three Refuges - The Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha - and these Refuges are always open to us when our minds are caught up in fear and anxiety. The Three Jewels or Refuges give us all we need. We can rest in the serene image of the Buddha, we can be reassured by the teaching of conditionality and impermanence, and we can depend on the support of all our friends in the sangha.
Tonight Mark will explore how our practice can help us to deal with worry, anxiety and fear and how, through that practice, we too can gain serenity, even when the world seems to be in turmoil.
All over 18 welcome whether new to Buddhism or more experienced. There is no need to book, just turn up.
There is no charge but, as we have no other income we would appreciate a donation each week (we suggest £10 but please donate whatever feels okay)
