Men's Day Retreat with Sthirajyoti
Sunday 17 May 10am – 4pm
We warmly invite male sangha members to join us for a Men's Day Retreat at York Buddhist Centre, Led by Triratna Order Member, Sthirajyoti. If you identify as a trans-man, or non-binary who is comfortable in a men's group, then you're very welcome here too, but do get in touch with us so that we can ensure that you are comfortable (enquiries@yorkbuddhistcentre.org).
Sthirajyoti has been involved in the Triratna Buddhist Community for many years, running groups and retreats that bring about connection and meaningful spiritual friendship.
Whether you are new to retreats or already experienced, you will find a welcoming and supportive environment in which to explore and practice The Dharma.
This retreat will focus on the Dhammapada as the Buddha's direct communication to us individually. Through meditation and exercises, we will look at the truths found in the text and use direct observation to verify these teachings for ourselves.
Doors open at 9.30am for a 10.00am start. We aim to bring things to a close at 4.00pm. Please bring vegan food to share during the lunch break.
LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE: You should be a regular member of the York sangha or have attended an Introduction to Buddhism course.
BOOKING: Please book using the link below:
There is a £10.00 charge to register your interest, after which we recommend a donation of £15.00 to £20.00 (when you book or on the day), or what you are able to afford, be it more or less.
Please contact Mark Havercroft at the Centre if you require further information.
We look forward to seeing you!
Apart from the registration fee we ask you - if you are able - to donate a further amount on the day to help keep the centre going. We suggest £12 to £15 but please donate whatever you can.
