Wed PRACTICE night:
The Dharma through different eyes
We often encounter the wisdom of the Dharma through the animals and nature around us, perhaps without even realizing it. The peace and beauty of the natural world helps us to be spiritually open and more aware of the beings that we share our world with.
During this series of four practice evenings, we will start with a 40 minute meditation practice, then members of the Going for Refuge women`s Mitra Group will offer will offer talks on animals, the myths surrounding them and how they can inspire our Buddhist practice.
Programme
13th May Introduction to this series and a special focus on Deer (Maeve and Wendy)
20th May The animals linked to the Five Jinnas/Conquerers (Jo)
27th May Dharmic lessons from Geese (Jo and Liz)
3rd June Nagas in Buddhist Mythology (Tasha)
All over 18 welcome. Newcomers are also very welcome too.
No need to book, just turn up.
The evening is freely given but we would very much appreciate a donation of £6-£12, or whatever you can give, to help cover our costs. York Buddhist Centre depends for its existence almost entirely on donations from those who use it. No one is paid at YBC. Please support us if you can.
