
Finding Your True Self: A Day Introducing Buddhism and Meditation
Friday 6 October 2023 10am – 4pm
Have you ever wondered what meditation or Buddhism are about? Well, this day is intended as a very relaxed taster. It is suitable for complete newcomers or as a refresher for those who already have a practice. We will lead you through three different kinds of meditation which will help you relax, calm your mind and cultivate kindness. There will also be short talks about practical Buddhist teachings which help us to cope with the ups and downs of life and a session about how we can cultivate more positive mental states, and an opportunity to relate the content of the day to your own experience. Two of our community will discuss how their practice has changed their lives.
Everyone over 18 is very welcome. You do not need any experience and you do not have to want to be a Buddhist. This is a taster for everyone!
Booking: We only charge a nominal £5 for booking, but we ask you to please make a donation when booking or on the day to help keep YBC open. We suggest £15-20 for this day retreat. YBC is a charity with no outside income and no one is paid.
Lunch: we will have lunch together so please bring vegan food to share
Apart from this £5 booking fee this day retreat is freely offered. However, we do have costs to cover, and a additional donation on the day would be very much appreciated.
