Day Retreat with Taravandana POSTPONED until 3rd July PLEASE RE-BOOK (see new entry on this page)

Saturday 26 March 2022 – Sunday 27 March 2022

POSTPONED - please book the Day Retreat on 3rd July

“Monks and Nuns, this is the direct path for the purification of beings, for the surmounting of sorrow and lamentation, for the disappearance of dukkha and discontent, for acquiring the true method, for the realization of Nibbana namely, the four Satipatthanas”  The Buddha

The second of two days exploring the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (Satipatthanas) as originally taught by the Buddha and then throughout history in every Buddhist tradition down to the present day in Triratna. These teachings are the basis of all our teachings on awareness including the mindfulness of breathing and secular mindfulness training.

The Four Foundations are mindfulness of:

  • Rupa: Body
  • Vedana: Feeling
  • Citta: Thoughts and emotions
  • Dhammas: The path to realization/Nibbana

On 13th February we had an introduction to the sutta and then looked at mindfulness of the body and feeling
On 27th March: We shall be exploring mindfulness of thoughts and emotions and turning towards glimpses of realization in our experience. (Please book from this page)

We will be meditating, reading and studying from the Satipatthana Sutta text, discussing our own experiences of practicing mindfulness

This Day Retreat is open to all those who have a regular meditation practice or who have joined one of our Introductory Courses.

Booking is essential. There is no set charge but we would appreciate a donation either when you book (online - see our donations tab) or on the day. We suggest something in the region of £10-£15 for each day
