True contentment is difficult to find in this turbulent world of ours.

York Buddhist Centre is a community of regular people, just like you, but we all have one thing in common. We all know the peace and joy that comes from regular meditation and we want to share our good fortune in finding this way to greater human happiness.

Meditating with others at our Saturday morning class is a perfect way to sample the benefits of meditation. We'll guide you through two meditations each week. The first is a simple way of calming the busy mind and the second helps us cultivate a sense of love and care to ourselves and others.

It's time well-spent each Saturday morning from 10.30am to 12 noon (and we are a very friendly lot too!)

Drop-in on any (or every) Saturday

There are two meditations each week both lasting around 30 minutes each with a ten minute break in between. You are very welcome to come to one or both. This session is suitable for both regular meditators and newcomers to meditation. All meditations are guided.

10.30: Mindfulness of Breathing Meditation - a meditation on the breath

11.10: Break 

11.20: Loving-Kindness Meditation (this will vary each week but will be one of the following: Metta Bhavana, Giving and Receiving and Self Kindness Practice

12 noon: Finish

No charge - but a small donation (say £5 to £8) would be appreciated to help cover our costs
