Friendship in the sangha

Friendship in the sangha

The Buddha said “Friendship is the whole of the Spiritual Life”

What did he mean and why is friendship so important?

We will be exploring this essential condition for developing ourselves spiritually in two ways

On 19th October we will delve into the Pali Canon to find out how the Buddha befriended young novice monk called Meghiya who thought he could manage on his own.

On 26th October we will explore  the place and importance of 3 levels of spiritual friendship. That is horizontal friendship with our peers, vertical friendship with more experienced sangha friends and transcendental friendship with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
