Green Tara - The Bodhisattva of Compassion
Wednesday 13th December - 7.00pm to 9.15pm
Green Tara, whose name means “star” or “she who ferries across,” is a Bodhisattva of compassion. A Bodhisattva is a being in Mahayana Buddhism who is practising for the benefit of others and who has vowed not to enter Nirvana, or the ultimate enlightened state, until all other beings have also become enlightened. In Tibetan, Tara is known as “Dölma”, or “She Who Saves.” She represents compassion in action, since she’s in the process of stepping from her lotus throne in order to help sentient beings.
Tonight Joan will explore aspects of Tara and how she can help us in our practice
